Veterinary Technician

Our technicians are part of the customer service team; whether they are greeting clients at the front desk, assisting doctors in exam rooms or answering and returning phone calls.

The team at Manchester Veterinary Clinic strives to provide individualized, thoughtful and practical care for our patients and clients in a collaborative environment of constant learning, advancement and helpfulness.

MVC is an equal opportunity employer.

We are currently accepting applications for a veterinary technician.

Applicants should meet the following criteria:

Available to work full time with shifts that include days, evenings, weekends and some holidays.

Demonstrated abilities that include excellent people skills, comfort with computers, attention to detail, critical thinking and team building (what job nowadays doesn’t look for these key strengths?)

Be prepared for a physically challenging job involving frequent lifting, bending and long periods of standing

Applicants should meet at least one of the following criteria:

Attained the degree of Veterinary Technician by completing an AVMA-accredited training program

Passed the Veterinary Technician National Examination

2 years of experience as a Veterinary Technician (or apply for an assistant position)

MVC techs are an integral part of our laboratory. Much of what needs to be done in our lab is preparing samples to submit to our reference laboratories. However, we offer in-house cytology, urinalysis and blood chemistry evaluations for our patients.

Surgical nursing and anesthesia monitoring is an important role that our technicians share in.

Our technicians receive training in and then function in all parts of our hospital, from surgery to exam rooms, from reception to kennel, playing a pivotal role in patient and client care, doctor support and staff training and coaching. We count on them knowing how to do just about everything. With two years of experience, applicants already know that this will be a mentally challenging and at times physically demanding job, but also one with commensurate rewards.

The benefits we offer to full-time employees include simple IRA contributions, health insurance, continuing education, pet care discounts, paid holiday time and “healthy time” bonuses.

No active ad is running for this position. Please send a resume as a PDF with your cover letter in the body of the email to both Erika and Emily, subject line should read Veterinary Technician Application.

We perform digital dental radiography as part of our dental evaluation.

Our technicians act much like a dental hygienist for patients here for dental services.
