I grew up in a small town fifteen minutes from Manchester. I have loved animals of all shapes and sizes my whole life. Growing up I was lucky enough to live with wonderful dogs and cats. They quickly became my best friends and I would rave about them at school to my peers and teachers. I have always thought of animals as companions, they are creatures who deserve our respect and love.

After highschool I went to Keene State College in Keene, New Hampshire. I had planned on becoming an elementary school teacher, caring for the “tiny humans” of this world. This is where I realized I was craving the comfort of the animals from my childhood. One weekend I went to the local Humane Society and found the love of my life. Families with young children were in the cat room playing with kittens. I walked around to the back and found him sitting in the farthest cage. He was the biggest and oldest cat there. They called him “Big Kitty” and the name definitely fit. I took him back to my apartment that day and we have been together ever since.

“Big Kitty” has become the best thing in my life. My love for this cat has encouraged me to find my way to animal care and the Manchester Veterinary Clinic. My view of the world and how I want to contribute to it has evolved over time. The one constant thing has been the respect I carry for all animals. I hope to find my place with the MVC crew and learn how to professionally care for the creatures that have done so much for me.
